ST. PAUL, Minn., 23 Aug. 2005. Engineers at Lockheed Martin Tactical Systems in St. Paul, Minn., are set to build and modify AN/UYQ-70(V) shipboard displays under terms of a $48.3 million U.S. Navy contract announced Aug. 22.
The company's Maritime Systems & Sensors division will provide design, integration, testing, qualification, production, integrated logistic and field support, for new or modified variants of AN/UYQ-70 products.
The contract was awarded Aug. 19 from the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington. The contract number is 00024-05-C-5132.
The AN/UYQ-70(V) is the Navy's latest generation of a continuously evolving family of display, processor, and network systems, and is fielded throughout the Navy to support display, peripheral processor, and network requirements surface ships, submarines, and aircraft.
Work will be in Eagan, Minn., and Johnstown, Pa., and will be finished in September 2007.
