North Atlantic introduces PC/104 3-channel programmable digital-to-synchro/resolver converter
BOHEMIA N.Y., 17 April 2008.North Atlantic Industries in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing a 3-channel digital-to-synchro/resolver converter on a PC/104 card called the 73DS2 for military and commercial programs, including airborne, shipboard, ground mobile, and C3I applications.
The DSP-based 73DS2 includes as many as three independent, transformer-isolated, programmable Synchro/resolver simulation channels, each with 16-bit resolution. The card also has ±1 arc-minute accuracy, and a short-circuit-protected output with 1.2 VA drive capability.
The unit requires +5 volts DC and ±12 volts DC power supplies, and operates over a frequency range of 47 Hz to 10 KHz. Additionally, each unit includes eight programmable digital input/output channels, wrap-around self-test, programmable output angle rotation, and an optional programmable excitation reference supply.
The 73DS2 provides continuous background built-in-test (BIT) on all functions and channels, including reference and signal loss detection. The BIT is transparent to the user, requires no programming, and does not interfere with the normal operation of the card.
Each digital-to-synchro/resolver converter channel is self-calibrating, without requiring removal of the card. The 73DS2 is available with an operating temperature range of -40 to 80 degrees Celsius. For more information contact North Atlantic online at www.naii.com.
