Ultraview introduces high-speed military data acquisition board with deep memory
ORINDA, Calif., 6 Feb. 2009. Ultraview Corp. in Orinda, Calif., is introducing a military PCI Express (PCIe) data acquisition board for uninterrupted acquisition of two concurrent 3-gigasample-per-second (GSPS) 8-bit analog-to-digital (A-D) channels.
The military board product is for military signals intelligence (SIGINT), surveillance, missile testing, radar, and other military defense electronics, scientific, and medical applications.
When installed in an x16 PCIe slot, the AD8-3000 can acquire data at an aggregate rate as fast as 6 gigabytes per second, optionally process it in the on-board Virtex-5 FPGA, buffer it in the 8-gigabyte on-board DDR-II RAM, and continuously stream the data via 1.4-gigabyte-per-second PCIe x8 DMA transfers to host system RAM, for immediate use, graphical display, or storage to disk.
Selective recording enables users to dynamically stop and start in response to a TTL input, increasing memory depth by storing only the needed data, for radar, burst communication, pulsed-spectroscopy and other applications.
