Navy special opps group needs contractor to install fiber optic cable among base workstations

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. 14 Feb. 2010. The U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) is looking for a contractor to install and test fiber optic cable connections among workstations at the Atlantic Fleet Combat Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. 14 Feb. 2010. The U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG) is looking for a contractor to install and test fiber optic cable connections among workstations at the Atlantic Fleet Combat Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

This job, which is available only to small businesses with annual revenues of less than $25 million, is to provide and install optical fiber for six to seven workstations in a conference room, and 10 workstations in a team room. A contract will be awarded about 24 Feb. 2010. The solicitation number is H92244-10-T-0099.

The contractor will be asked to use six-strand fiber optic cable and Keyed LC multimode connectors, as well as terminate all workstations with MTRJ connectors. After installation, the contractor must test the cables according to ANSI/TIA/EIA standards. The completion date is to be determined. Bidders must visit the site at 10 a.m. local time 18 Feb.

The workstations to be connected with fiber optic cable are at 1636 Regulus Ave., Virginia Beach, Va. 23461-2299. Bidders should arrange for the 18 Feb. site visit by e-mailing address, date of birth, social security number, place of birth, and vehicle information to Leigh Walker at [email protected] by 2 p.m. eastern on 17 Feb. 2010.
