Rugged notebook computer from Handheld USA meets MIL-STD-810F and IP65 durability standards

CORVALIS, Ore., 14 Sept. 2010. HHCS Handheld USA Inc. in Corvalis, Ore., is introducing the Algiz XRW rugged notebook computer with eight hours of battery life on one charge and optional eG modem that can provide high-speed ASM/UMTS/EVDO data transmission. The rugged notebook also is ready for Gobi 2000 technology that enables users to choose their wireless frequencies anywhere in the world, company officials say.

The Algiz XRW rugged laptop computer comes standard with Bluetooth, WLAN and GPS as well as a built-in 2-megapixel autofocus camera that allows video conferencing in the field. The rugged laptop has a 10.1-inch wide sunlight-readable screen and a 2 GHz Intel Atom processor. It includes a 64 gigabytes of solid state disk and 2 gigabytes of DDR2 RAM. The Algiz XRW runs the Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate operating system.

The rugged notebook weighs 3.3 pounds, has a sealed and illuminated keyboard and mouse touchpad, and is rated to IP65 against sand, dust, and water. It passes MIL-STD-810F ruggedness testing, including drop tests from four feet, and can handle temperatures from -21 to 70 degrees Celsius.
