WOBURN, Mass., 29 Dec. 2010. Concurrent Technologies Inc. in Woburn, Mass., is introducing the VR 737/08x 6U OpenVPXrugged single-board computer based on the Intel Core i7 embedded processor and Mobile Intel QM57 Express chipset for mission-critical embedded computing applications.
The computer board offers a choice of processors: VR 737/080 has an Intel Core i7-660UE 1.33 GHz processor (800 MHz FSB), the VR 737/082 has an Intel Core i7-620LE 2.0 GHz processor (1066 MHz FSB) and the VR 737/083 has an Intel Core i7-610E 2.53 GHz processor (1066 MHz FSB).
With support for VITA 46.6 Ethernet control plane, VITA 46.4 PCI Express data plane and VITA 65 PCI Express expansion plane, the VR 737/08x CPU board offers features rugged serial switch fabrics, serial differential signal transmissions, high transaction and aggregate services, all the while maintaining lower link latency and increased scalability.
The VR 737/08x is a 6U VPX high performance single-board computer that complies with VITA 46.x standard, supporting as much as 8 gigabytes of soldered DDR3 ECC SDRAM, 3x Gigabit Ethernet ports, dual 1000Base-BX channels, 4x PCI Express x8 lanes (supporting Gen 1 and Gen 2 data rates), dual SATA300 disk interfaces, DVI-D and DVI-I graphics interfaces, 6x serial UART ports, 5x USB 2.0, 8x GPIO and support for 2x PMC/XMC I/O modules all in a rugged 6U VPX form factor.
The Intel Core i7 processor has Intel Direct Media Interface Technology and Intel Flexible Display Interfaces to provide simultaneous high-speed graphic and non-graphic traffic. The processor also has Intel Hyper-Threading Technology to allow several simultaneous execution threads in each core.
