VIENNA, Va., 18 Feb. 2011. Technology and systems integrator MicroTech has been selected as a Prime Vendor for the U.S. Army $400 million Information Technology Services - Small Business (ITS-SB) contract. The Federal contract opens the door to the small business community in providing technology services directly to the Army, says a company representative.
"This landmark award identifies the small businesses most prepared to anticipate the information technology challenges of warfighters," says Tony Jimenez, president and CEO of MicroTech. "MicroTech has a solid history of ID/IQ success with all service branches. ITS-SB not only extends our capabilities across the DOD, but also showcases the competence of our staff of highly trained professionals--many of them military veterans--who understand the business of government."
In partnership with the Army, MicroTech will provide Information Assurance (IA), Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V), the Electronic Product Environment Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Green technology program, Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) engineering services, migration/integration IT services, and warranty and maintenance support.
The ITS-SB contract is a companion contract to the U.S. Army Information Technology Enterprise Services (ITES) program. The ITES ID/IQ contracts make available technology hardware and services to enable Army enterprise-wide IT solutions. The contract term is over a five-year period of performance--a 36-month base period and one, 24-month option period.
