Harris Corp. gains $4.6 million order for Falcon Tactical Radios from nation in Eastern Africa

MELBOURNE, Fla., 7 April 2011. Harris Corp. won a $4.6 million order from a nation in Eastern Africa for Falcon III and Falcon II tactical radios, which will support the nation's implementation of an advanced command-and-control system providing line-of-sight and beyond line-of-sight voice and data communications. Harris will deliver its Falcon III RF-7800V Very-High Frequency (VHF) Combat Net Radio offering high-speed data connectivity up to 192 Kbps and enabling voice communications, wireless streaming video, and high-resolution file sharing on the battlefield.

Harris will deliver its Falcon III RF-7800V Very-High Frequency (VHF) Combat Net Radio offering high-speed data connectivity up to 192 Kbps and enabling voice communications, wireless streaming video, and high-resolution file sharing on the battlefield.
The RF-7800V provides coverage in the 30 to 108 MHZ frequency band at up to 50 watts of power.
Harris is also supplying the African nation with Falcon II RF-5800H high-frequency (HF) manpack radios. The RF-5800H provides secure beyond-line-of-sight radio communications in battlefield environments and features Third Generation-Automatic Link Establishment (3G-ALE), integrated data link protocols, and embedded GPS receivers.
