Lumexis chooses TE Connectivity rugged optical fiber and fiber connectors for in-flight entertainment systems

PARIS, 24 June 2011. Aircraft cabin entertainment designers at Lumexis Corp. in Costa Mesa, Calif., needed rugged optical fiber and fiber connectors for the company's in-flight entertainment product offering via Fiber to The Screen (FTTS) technology. They found their solution from TE Connectivity in Harrisburg, Pa. Lumexis awarded a multi-year supply contract to TE Connectivity for the optical fiber components Thursday at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget, France. The Lumexis FTTS technology can help in-flight entertainment systems designers reduce system size, weight, and power (SwAP), as well as improve system performance, Lumexis officials say.

The Lumexis FTTS technology can help in-flight entertainment systems designers reduce system size, weight, and power (SwAP), as well as improve system performance, Lumexis officials say.

The FTTS fiber-optic backbone and optical fiber connectors are rugged and easy to maintain for in-flight entertainment applications in daily airline service, TE Connectivity officials say.
