SIDNEY, N.Y., 17 July 2011. Amphenol Industrial Operations in Sidney, N.Y., is introducing rugged, high-pressure KTK electronic connectors enhanced with down-hole microD pigtails for the roughest applications in military, oil industry, and other industrial applications that require low maintenance, extreme accuracy, and dependability while remaining flexible and limiting the risks losing the connector. Amphenol manufactures these pigtails to user specification, and have a bi-directional pounds-per-square-inch (psi) rating of 20,000. These high-pressure down-hole connectors for oil and gas down-hole tools offer a high pressure and high temperature sealed connection.
SIDNEY, N.Y., 17 July 2011. Amphenol Industrial Operations in Sidney, N.Y., is introducing KTK rugged connectors enhanced with down-hole microD pigtails that are able to withstand high pressure and high temperatures for the roughest military, oil industry, and other industrial applications that require low maintenance, accuracy, and dependability while remaining flexible and limiting the risks of losing the connector.Amphenol manufactures these pigtails to user specification, and have a bi-directional pounds-per-square-inch (psi) rating of 20,000. These high-pressure down-hole connectors for oil and gas down-hole tools offer a high pressure and high temperature sealed connection. The connectors are compatible with Kintec and GE Tensor layouts, and are for measurement while drilling (MWD) systems, logging while drilling (LWD) tools, and down-hole batteries.

These connectors use machined glass-filled epoxy thermoset plastic to withstand extremely high temperatures. The connectors come in a medium-temperature version that withstands temperatures to 170 degrees Celsius, and a high-temperature version that withstands temperatures as hot as 200 C. The connectors also have gold contacts, a Viton O-ring, and solder pot connections.
