Rugged Intel Atom-powered panel PC for security and transportation applications introduced by WinSystems

ARLINGTON, Texas, 15 July 2011. WinSystems Inc. in Arlington, Texas, is introducing four industrial-grade PPC65 panel PCs powered by an integrated 1.6 GHz Intel Atom-based single board computer for security, transportation, industrial test and measurement, utility, pipeline, medical, and food-processing applications that require tight system integration and minimal space requirements. The rugged panel PCs are available with 12-, 15-, 17- or 19-inch diagonal displays and touch screens. The front bezels on these panel PCs are environmentally sealed to comply with NEMA 4/IP65 specifications from damaging moisture, dust, and dirt.

The front bezels on these panel PCs are environmentally sealed to comply with NEMA 4/IP65 specifications from damaging moisture, dust, and dirt.The panel PCs meet and exceed industry standards for RF emissions, susceptibility, shock, and vibration per IEC 61000 electrical fast transient, surge, drop in power, conducted susceptibility, and conducted immunity tests; and FCC Part 15 B and CE EMC directive 2004/108/EC. The devices can withstand 1 G vibration and 15 Gs of shock.

The panels support Linux, Windows XPe, CE 6.0, WES7, and Windows 7, and have two gigabytes of system memory with optional customer-installed SATA drive and CompactFlash solid-state disk. I/O support includes a Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 2.0, and two RS-232 serial channels.

The system requires 12 volts of DC power, but a version that accepts 12 to 48 volts DC is available. Other options include black chassis, custom art for the bezel, and preloaded operating system. For more information contact WinSystems online at www.winsystems.com.
