SANTA ANA, Calif., 16 Aug. 2011. ITT Interconnect Solutions in Santa Ana, Calif., is introducing a series of high-current/low-voltage rugged connectors suitable for aerospace and defense applications that are designed for harsh underwater conditions, including naval and other marine applications such as military field equipment, ships, and other sea-going vessels. The CIR Marine Bronze Series waterproof connectors meet IP67 specifications when mated, and are manufactured from an aluminum-bronze alloy that also contains iron, nickel, manganese, and lead to resist rust and corrosion. Each CIR Marine Bronze Series connector has a bayonet lock and is built to NATO standard VG 95234. The connectors couple and uncouple quickly with an audible snap-in lock. The cylindrical multi-pole connectors are waterproof for as long as 12 hours to depths of 33 feet, have no threads to resists the effects of dust and sand, can be connected and unconnected as many as 2,000 times, and have silver- or gold-plated copper alloy solder or crimp contacts.

The ITT Marine Bronze Series connectors comply with RoHS lead-free guidelines, and come in three types: bayonet lock, which meets NATO standard VG 95234; VGE, which meets NATO VG 96929; and the VE-VS marine bronze threaded series, which meets MIL-DTL-5015.

The connectors also meet VG 96929 for high-power at low-voltage transmission, and operate in the full military temperature range of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius. For more information contact ITT Interconnect Solutions online at www.ittcannon.com.
