6U VME single-board computers with 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors introduced by Concurrent
WOBURN, Mass., 3 July 2012. Concurrent Technologies Inc. in Woburn, Mass., is introducing the rugged 6U VME VP 91x/01x single-board computer with 3rd generation Intel Core processors for military embedded systems, as well as for homeland security, industrial control, and transportation applications. The VP 91x/01x offers advanced security and anti-tamper packages and supports the dual-core and quad-core 3rd generation Intel Core i7 processors and Mobile Intel QM77 Express chipset (story continues below).
The embedded computing board offers as much as 16 gigabytes of ECC SDRAM. The 3rd generation Intel Core processors offer enhanced graphic and processing capabilities within the same power budget of generations of the microprocessor. The 3rd generation Intel Core processor also supports OpenCL, an open-systems standard for cross-platform parallel programming of modern processors, which can improve speed and responsiveness.
The VP 91x/01x comes with or without security packages, and incorporates several user-selectable and configurable proprietary security features integrated into the board to prevent tampering and safeguard intellectual property.
The board supports two 100 MHz PCI-eXtended PMC or two XMC x8 PCI Express sites, with expansion for two more PMC sites via an optional expansion carrier, and offers several rear I/O functions. The board also offers VITA 31.1 Gigabit Ethernet, TCP/IP software, clustering and other network management tools.
The VP 91x/01x is available in two ruggedized temperature grades and three commercial temperature grades. The ruggedized conduction-cooled version operates in temperatures from -40 to 85 C, and the ruggedized air-cooled version operates in temperatures from -40 to 75 C.
For commercial-grade boards, the N series operates in temperatures from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius; the E series operates in temperatures from -25 to 70 C; and the K-series operates in temperatures from -40 to 85 C.
Software support includes Linux, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP Embedded, Windows XP, Solaris, LynxOS, VxWorks, and QNX. For more information contact Concurrent Technologies Inc. online at www.gocct.com.
