6U CompactPCI processor blade introduced by ADLINK for security and telecom applications
TAIPEI, Taiwan, 17 July 2012. ADLINK Technology Inc. in Taipei, Taiwan, is introducing the cPCI-6930 next-generation dual-slot 6U CompactPCI processor blade for server-grade embedded computing applications in the security, telecommunications, data communications, and computer industries.
The cPCI-6930 has a 1.8 GHz eight-core Intel Xeon processor E5-2448L, Intel C604 chipset, and DDR3-1333 ECC registered memory as much as 48 gigabytes capacity. On-card connectivity includes four front panel Gigabit Ethernet egress ports, four gigabytes soldered SATA NAND flash, optional bootable CompactFlash socket, and optional SAS/SATA direct connector for an onboard 2.5-inch drive.
Rear I/O connectivity includes as many as three SATA ports and as many as eight SAS ports supporting hardware RAID via two mini-SAS connectors.
With Intel Hyper-Threading technology, the cPCI-6930 uses processor resources efficiently, enabling several threads to run on each core to increase processor throughput and overall performance on threaded software, ADLINK officials say.
An Intel 82580EB Gigabit Ethernet controller enables high-speed data-transfer via four front-panel Gigabit Ethernet ports. Two additional Gigabit Ethernet ports route to the J3 connector to support PICMG 2.16.
