DC-DC converters for robotics, test, and industrial control introduced by TDK Lambda
SAN DIEGO, 3 April 2013. TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the iQG series of DC-DC converters for intermediate or distributed bus power architectures in applications such as robotics, industrial controls, test and measurement, data communications/telecom, and wireless/broadcast.
The power electronics device is 0.52 inch high, is for use in confined space and demanding thermal environments, and provides a regulated 12-volt DC output with a high-isolation of 1500 volts DC, input to output. In addition, they operate with inputs from 36 to 75 volts DC. The user can select from models rated at 300 or 400 Watts.
The converter's efficiencies of as much as 95 percent substantially minimize wasted heat and system cooling issues. The device is compatible with conduction, convection, and forced-air cooling, and has a baseplate temperature range of -40 to 125 degrees Celsius.
Standard features include fixed frequency operation, remote on/off, and auto-recovery protection against input under voltage and output over current and over temperature.
The iQG 400-Watt version has a power density of 230 Watts per cubic inch power density and deliver as much as 33 amps of useable output current. The 400-Watt models can be used individually or units can be connected in parallel for more power.
Safety approvals for the iQG series include UL60950-1 for the U.S. and Canada, VDE 0805, CB scheme (IEC60950-1), and the CE Mark.
