GaAs MMIC amplifier for military and space RF applications introduced by Custom MMIC
WESTFORD, Mass., 13 June 2013. Custom MMIC in Westford, Mass. is introducing the CMD187 wideband gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) amplifier die for RF and microwave applications operating at frequencies from 2 to 20 GHz.
The CMD187 is suitable for microwave radio and VSAT, telecom infrastructure, test instrumentation, and military and space applications.
This device delivers greater than 22 dB of flat gain with a corresponding output 1 dB compression point of +14 dBm, and a noise figure of 4.5 dB at 20 GHz, company officials say.
The CMD187 is an all-positive bias design, thus eliminating the complicated and costly sequencing circuits while also simplifying board layout, officials say.
In addition, the use of on-chip tracking circuits ensures consistent performance over temperature and process variation. The CMD187 is a 50 Ohm matched design that offers full passivation for increased reliability and moisture protection.
