Rugged 3U VPX Gigabit Ethernet embedded switches and routers introduced by X-ES
MIDDLETON, Wis., 21 June 2013. Extreme Engineering Solutions Inc. (X-ES) in Middleton, Wis., is introducing the XChange3013 and XChange3018 3U VPX switches and routers for managed or unmanaged Layer 2 switching to IP routers with Cisco IOS and Cisco Mobile Ready Net technology.
These embedded computing routers are secure, non-blocking, high-performance, Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet networking solutions. The XChange3018 supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet using the 10GBASE-T protocol, and is for extremely low temperatures or rugged environments.
The XChange3013 and XChange3018 deliver wire speed across all of their ports and jumbo packets as large as 13 kilobits. They also support IPv6, Quality of Service (QoS), Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), and ETF RFCs and IEEE protocols.
The XChange3013 supports as many as 20 Gigabit Ethernet ports, including 14 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and six 1000BASE-X SerDes ports. The XChange3018 supports as many as four 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The XChange3013 and XChange3018 can be managed through SNMP, as well as with an industry-standard CLI via their serial ports, telnet, or SSH. When configured as a managed Layer 2 switch, support for has such as fast boot, flow control, MAC bridging (IEEE 802.1D), port mirroring, port authentication (IEEE 802.1x), VLANs (IEEE 802.1Q), GVRP, MVRP, port and protocol classification (IEEE 802.1v), GARP, MRP, GMRP, MMRP, LACP, RMON, STP, RSTP, MSTP, RPVST+, AgentX, and IGMP are included.
