Low-output power supplies for industrial and outdoor applications introduced by TDK
SAN DIEGO, 9 Sept. 2013. TDK Lambda Americas in San Diego is introducing two low-output-voltage power supplies to the company's TDK-Lambda GWS500 series. The new devices -- a 5-volt 80-amp model and a 7.5-volt 67-amp model -- are for fitting into 1U enclosures.
The GWS series is a 400-to-500-Watt AC-DC, forced air-cooled power supply with efficiency to 90 percent for industrial, LED, display and signage, IT, traffic controls, automated service, kiosks, test and measurement, and audio/video applications.
Featuring a 4.1-by-8.6-inch footprint and 1.6-inch height, the GWS500 comes in six models with nominal outputs of 5, 7.5, 12, 24, 36, and 48 volts. To accommodate non-standard system voltages the GWS500's output is user-adjustable, either via the built-in adjustment potentiometer or by injecting an external programming voltage.
Where peak power is needed, for example for motor start-up, the 24-volt and 36-volt models can deliver as much as 600 Watts for 10 seconds. The supply can be operated at full load from -25 to 50 degrees Celsius ambient temperature and to 70 C with suitable derating.
These power supplies include overvoltage, overtemperature, and overcurrent protections. Also included are 5-volt/0.3-amp standby output, remote on/off, and DC good signal, as standard.
The GWS500 operates from 85 to 264 volts AC, is UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 safety certified (2nd Edition) and carries the CE mark. All models meet EN61000-4-X immunity and EN61000-3-2 harmonic correction standards.
