Waterproof computer for ship, aircraft, and land-based applications introduced by Crystal
HIAWATHA, Iowa, 5 Jan. 2014. Crystal Group Inc. in Hiawatha, Iowa, is introducing the SE16 sealed embedded computer for high performance computing applications in military and industrial and environments where performance, ruggedness, and reliability are imperative.
The SE16 has immersion protection rated to IP67, allowing it to operate while submerged in water to one meter. Weighing 23 pounds, the SE16 Sealed Embedded's ruggedness and performance makes it desirable for shipboard, airborne, and land-based applications.
The rugged computer has an updated MINI-ITX Intel i7 mobile processor and X9SPV Supermicro motherboard for increased computing power, graphics performance, power saving, and server long-term availability.
The SE16 sealed embedded computer offers an all-aluminum construction with custom EMI gasketing to seal the chassis. It is designed as convection cooled which enables the unit to operate in extended temperature ranges of -40 to 55 degrees Celsius. Cold-plate mounting also is available for higher-temperature environments.
