Crane to provide power conditioning and batteries for Boeing 777X passenger jet flight control
LYNNWOOD, Wash., 23 Oct. 2014.avionics integrators at the BAE Systems Electronic Systems sector in Nashua, N.H., needed power electronics components for the integrated flight control electronics (IFCE) fly-by-wire (FBW) system that BAE is providing for the Boeing 777X twin-engine passenger jumbo jet. They found their solution from the Crane Aerospace & Electronics Power Solutions segment in Lynwood, Wash.
BAE Systems has chosen Crane Power to provide Crane's ELDEC-brand power conditioning modules (PCMs) and batteries for the Boeing 777X IFCE FBW system. Crane’s power electronics products will provide high integrity, uninterruptible power for the IFCE, company officials say.
The BAE Systems IFCE FBW provides computing for the 777X’s all composite wing with load alleviation, as well as its advanced high lift and folding wingtips. The 777X is the newest family of twin-aisle airplanes that first will be built in 2017 and delivered in 2020.
Crane supplies power conversion equipment and batteries to the Flight Control Electronics on the existing Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner passenger aircraft.
