VNX Marketing Alliance launched to promote standards for rugged small-form-factor embedded computing
FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz., 11 Nov. 2014. The embedded computing industry is ramping up its support for rugged small-form-factor embedded computing with formation of the VNX Marketing Alliance to promote adoption of VITA 74 NanoX Small Form Factor specification and technology.
The VNX Marketing Alliance comes under the Aegis of the VITA Open Standards, Open Markets trade group in Fountain Hills, Ariz., which promotes American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited, open system architectures in critical embedded system applications.
VITA 74 defines standard mechanical and electrical specifications for rugged small-form-factor embedded computing, and encompasses modules, backplanes, enclosures, and integrated systems.

The VNX Marketing Alliance is in place is to establish an ecosystem of interested parties that promotes and creates name recognition, as well as grow adoption of the VITA 74 NanoX Small Form Factor specification and technology.
The VITA 74 NanoX Small Form Factor specification was released as a VITA Draft Standard for Trial Use at the end of 2013. The next step is full ANSI/VITA ratification.
The alliance is made up of technology suppliers developing products based on the VITA 74 NanoX Small Form Factor specification.
Inaugural members of the VNX Marketing Alliance are Alligator Designs Pvt Ltd in Bangalore, India; Alphi Technology Corp. in Tempe, Ariz.; Alta Data Technologies LLC in Albuquerque, N.M.; Creative Electronic Systems (CES) in Geneva, Switzerland; Data Device Corp. (DDC) in Bohemia, N.Y.; IOXOS Technologies SA in Gland, Switzerland; Red Rapids Inc. in Richardson, Texas; Samtec in New Albany, Ind.; Themis Computer in Fremont, Calif.; and VectorNav Technologies LLC in Dallas.
