Multichannel data converter FMC for harsh-environment military uses introduced by Pentek
UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., 14 Jan. 2015. Pentek Inc. in Upper Saddle River, N.J., is introducing the Flexor model 3316 multichannel high-speed-data-converter FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) for harsh-environment military applications.
The Flexor model 3316 embedded computing module has eight 250 MHz 16-bit A/D converters. The front end accepts eight analog HF or IF inputs on front panel connectors coupled to four Texas Instruments ADS42LB69 dual A/D converters.
The FMC connector matches to the Pentek model 5973 3U VPX Virtex-7 FPGA carrier. Pentek also supplies 3316 example code for the Xilinx PCI Express FMC 707 Virtex-7 evaluation board as an alternate development scenario. An internal timing bus provides timing and synchronization to the A/D converters.
The Flexor model 5973 comes preconfigured with built-in functions for data capture, synchronization, time tagging, and formatting, and offers eight digital down converters (DDCs) for radar, communications, or general data acquisition applications.
The Pentek GateFlow FPGA design kit gives users access to factory installed IP at the source level. The Pentek GateXpress PCI Express configuration manager supports dynamic FPGA reconfiguration though software commands.
The Flexor model 3316 FMC is for air-cooled, conduction-cooled, and rugged operating environments. For more information contact pentek online at www.pentek.com.
