ATTLEBORO, Mass., 2 March 2016. Barry Industries Inc., in Attleboro, Mass., is announcing a report detailing the broadband performance of Barry's 5-millimeter high temperature co-fired ceramic (HTCC) quad-flat-no-leads (QFN) package to 40 GHz.

Barry Industries is an ISO9001:2008 certified ITAR-registered manufacturer of high quality thick film resistors, terminations, attenuators, and high temperature co-fired ceramic (HTCC) packaging. Measurement is from RF and microwave test house Modelithics Inc. in Tampa, Fla.

The report presents the modeling of each of the 5-millimeter QFNs 32 pins to 40 GHz using a combination of Ansys HFSS 3D simulation and precision Modelithics measurement data.

The model has 64 ports for the inner and outer connections of each pin and two model package options depending on the design configuration. The Modelithics model is validated with a comparison to actual measured data, including an example fixture with a transmission line mounted and connected with wire bonds in the Barry package.
