Cyber security and cyber threat intelligence is aim of BAE Systems deal with iSIGHT Partners
BOSTON, 30 April 2015.Cyber security experts at BAE Systems are planning to increase their company's capabilities in cyber threat intelligence in the U.S. with their partnership with iSIGHT Partners Inc. in Dallas.
Officials of the BAE Systems Applied Intelligence segment in Boston announced an agreement with iSIGHT to augment BAE Systems threat intelligence client offering. iSIGHT has expertise in monitoring the global threat ecosystem and providing high-fidelity cyber security intelligence.
The agreement will enable BAE Systems to provide services from iSIGHT Partners. The combination of BAE Systems and iSIGHT will blend the comanies' monitoring and defensive technologies with actionable intelligence from internal and external sources, company officials say.
BAE Systems Applied Intelligence tracks more than 90 threat groups from across 15 countries, company officials say. It reports on some of the most advanced cyber attack campaigns.
It was the BAE Systems-team that detailed the capabilities behind the ‘Snake’ threat group, for example, and shared its Snake cyber espionage toolkit report with security and business authorities to enable government and businesses to discover existing compromises and secure their networks, BAE Systems officials say.
The agreement will enable organizations to address threat issues in real time and provide reporting in additional specialist areas. "By augmenting the threat intelligence product set we can offer to our customers, we can help them to generate an even more complete picture of their threat landscape and therefore the measures they can take to stay ahead of threat actors," says Colin McKinty, vice president of cyber security strategy for the Americas at BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.
