The Hypersonic Tunnel Facility (HTF) at NASA’s Neil Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio, is a blowdown, non-vitiated free jet facility able to test large-scale hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems. It originally was designed to test nuclear thermal rocket nozzles.
This wind tunnel test facility is designed to simulate the heat and atmospheric conditions of hypersonic flight at speeds from Mach 5 to Mach 7.
