DUBAI, UAE, 26 May 2011. Officials at performance-based operations (PBO) expert AVTECH in Sweden announced that the company is opening a Middle East subsidiary called AVTECH Middle East LLC, that will be located in Dubai.
The new subsidiary was jointly created by AVTECH and H.E. Dr. Mohammed Bin Saeed Al Badi, AVTECH ME's majority owner. AVTECH Middle East’s Dubai office is located near Dubai International Airport in Festival Tower, Festival City, Dubai.
"The Middle East and Asia are the fastest growth areas for commercial aviation with UAE and Dubai leading the way," says Lars GV Lindberg, founder and president of the AVTECH Group. "Increased airport and airspace capacity together, with higher efficiency and predictability, are key factors for continued growth, especially for hub operations. Additionally, minimizing the environmental load is increasingly an important issue for both travelers and residents.
"Aviation is moving from rule-based operations to PBO, a transition from an analogue to a digital world, making it possible to increase capacity and efficiency," Lindberg continues.
"AVTECH also is an associated partner to Airbus within SESAR JU."
Engineers at AVTECH provide airports, ANSPs, and airlines solutions for analyzing issues surrounding the implementation of PBO.
AVTECH and Dubai Airports officials are working on a study evaluating the consequence of deploying time based operations at Dubai International Airport. Large scale Monte Carlo simulation of current and future airspace using TBO will provide the answers on capacity and throughput. The project is supported by the Swedish Government innovation foundation VINNOVA.
