Kellstrom Defense Aerospace wins Northrop Grumman contract to support E-8C Joint STARS aircraft

MIRAMAR, Fla., 16 Aug. 2011. Kellstrom Defense Aerospace Inc., a division of Kellstrom Industries, won a contract from Northrop Grumman Corp. to provide operational support for 17 E-8C Joint STARS aircraft at Robins Air Force Base, Ga. The contract work, spanning five years with yearly renewals, falls under Northrop Grumman’s prime contract with the U.S. Air Force for Total System Support Responsibility (TSSR).

Kellstrom’s staff will provide to Northrop Grumman and the Air Force specialized warehousing, repair management, purchasing, and quality assurance, in addition to functional, infrastructure, and systems support services. Kellstrom Defense Aerospace will assume all existing support operations following a transition period ending Oct. 31, 2011.

Kellstrom personnel have supported the T-3 test bed aircraft for Northrop Grumman under a similar program for the past 10 years.
