Aircraft MRO expert FL Technics prepares for spare parts ISO 9001-2008 audit and certification for quality control
VILNIUS, Lithuania, 13 April 2012. The aircraft spare parts subsidiary of aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) specialist FL Technics in Vilnius, Lithuania, is preparing for certification to ISO 9001-2008, which specifies requirements for a quality-management system for consistent quality products and continuous product improvement.
Implementing ISO 9001-2008 requirements will move FL Technics Spare Parts to a higher level, company officials say. On receiving the ISO 9001-2008 certificate, FL Technics will become an approved ISO organization.
The upcoming internal and external ISO 9001-2008 audit will be done by a third-party accreditation body within a six-week period, FL Technics Spare Parts is prepared to pass the certification process, company officials say.
FL Technics Spare Parts officials say they plan to carry out a quality-management system that ensures strong control of the supply process, including tight interaction with parts suppliers and constant supervision of subcontractors.
When earned, the ISO certificate will certify that FL Technics Spare Parts complies with the public purchasing requirements separates responsibilities within the company.
"By improving the process quality and through a significant minimization of the failure rate, FL Technics Spare Parts will show its compliance with the highest international quality management standards," says Jonas Butautis, chief executive officer of FL Technics.
FL Technics Spare Parts provides spare parts and services that cover sales, exchange and loans, consignment, payment-by-hour (PBH) programs, component pool excess, logistics, and round-the-clock aircraft-on-ground (AOG) support.
The company offers space parts for aircraft and engine components, wheels & brakes, auxiliary power units (APUs), landing gear, in-flight entertainment systems (IFEs), and thrust reversers.
