TEMPE, Ariz., 29 April 2012. StandardAero Business Aviation in Tempe, Ariz., has finished the first two avionics upgrades on the Dassault Falcon 900EX/DX/LX series aircraft flight deck. The cockpit upgrades involve installing the Honeywell EASy II avionics, which provides hardware and software upgrades for improved pilot vision, enhanced navigation, and clear weather information.
This first installation of the EASy II avionics upgrade by StandardAero was at the company’s Augusta, Ga., facility; the latest at StandardAero’s completions center in Springfield, Ill. (SPI). Additional installations are scheduled at Springfield, Ill., Los Angeles and Houston. StandardAero is one of the largest independent maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service providers for Dassault Falcon aircraft.
“As business aviation continues to recover, we’re seeing increased interest in upgrades like Honeywell EASy II flight deck upgrade,” says Jeremy Thomas, the StandardAero director of avionics products.
The Dassault EASy II upgrade improves safety and situational awareness through installations like the SmartRunway Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS), SmartView Synthetic Vision System (SVS), Automatic Descent Mode (ADM), and XM Graphical Weather.
Airspace and airport access improvements include temperature compensation and RNP AR 0.3, and with the optional Enhanced Nav-LPV. The Dassault EASy II upgrade also provides optional Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) and the future Controller/Pilot Data Link (CPDLC) service bulletin.
StandardAero specializes in avionics, engine, and airframe maintenance, repair and overhaul, engine component repair, engineering services, interior completions, and paint applications for business and general aviation, airline, military, helicopter, components, energy and VIP completions markets.
The aircraft can fly at altitudes as high as 51,000 feet at speeds as fast as fast as 513 knots. The Dassault Falcon 900 has a range of nearly 4,000 miles, and is powered by three Honeywell TFE731-5BR-1C turbofan engines.
