TAECO to convert Boeing 737-300 jetliners to executive and VIP configuration for Las Vegas Sands Corp.
XIAMEN, China, 5 June 2012. Taikoo (Xiamen) Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. (TAECO) in Xiamen, China, will reconfigure the cabin of a Boeing 737-300 narrow-body jetliner that belongs to Las Vegas Sands Corp. in Las Vegas to a very important person (VIP) configuration at the TAECO facility in Xiamen, Fujian province, in Southern China.
TAECO will handle conceptual design and renderings, cabin interior parts and monument fabrication, and reconfiguration and installation of the 737-300 general aviationVIP conversion. TAECO's Completion Centre will do the work.
The Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS) is a global developer of integrated entertainment resorts hotels, casinos, live entertainment, convention and exhibition facilities, and celebrity chef restaurants.
The company uses its fleet of aircraft to transport the company's executive officers and VIP guests. The Las Vegas Sands Corp. operates the Venetian and Palazzo resorts on the Las Vegas Strip; and the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore; the Venetian Macao, the Four Seasons Hotel Macao, the Four Seasons-branded apartments, and the Sands Macao in Macao, China.
The Las Vegas Sands Corp. also is building the Sheraton and St. Regis hotels in Macao, China. Macao is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China -- the other being Hong Kong -- where the economy relies heavily on gambling and tourism.
Officials of the Las Vegas Sands use their aircraft fleet to transport some of the world's most prominent high-roller gamblers to their gaming resorts in Las Vegas, Singapore, and China. In addition to two 737-300 jetliners, the Las Vegas Sands operates three Gulfstream IV business jets, one Gulfstream V business jet, two Boeing 747SP jumbo jets, and one Lockheed L-1011 widebody jet.
TAECO is Asia's an Airbus-approved and Boeing-licensed VIP completion center. The first Boeing 737 will arrive in TAECO at the end of May and will be the first VIP reconfiguration that TAECO has carried out.
The Las Vegas Sands is an established maintenance customer of TAECO, company officials say. TAECO has been performing heavy maintenance for Las Vegas Sands Corp. since 2009.
