SÃO JOSÉ DOS CAMPOS, Brazil, 5 Aug. 2012. Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer in São José Dos Campos, Brazil, signed an agreement to sell six Embraer 190 jets to Venezuelan air carrier Conviasa Airlines in Maiquetía, Venezuela. The deal is worth $271.2 million.
The deal also includes 14 purchase options for the same aircraft model. With options the transaction could be worth as much as $904 million. The first deliveries are scheduled to take place by the end of 2012.
The E190 regional jet seats 100 passengers and has a range of 2,400 nautical miles, which is suitable for flights on city pairs with more than 5.5 hours flight time. The first E-Jet went entered service in 2004, and now has about 850 aircraft in operation by 61 airlines in 42 countries, Embraer officials say.

Conviasa’s new E190s will be configured with 104 seats, in a single-class layout. At present, the airline serves 14 domestic and nine international destinations.
Embraer holds 75 percent of the commercial aviation market in Latin America and the Caribbean in jets with as many as 120 seats.
