Indra Australia outsources manufacture, test of air traffic management system to MVTS
CARLSBAD, Calif., 17 Aug. 2012. Indra Australia is outsourcing the manufacture, assembly, and test of critical elements of its air traffic management (ATM) Navigation Aid systems to MVTS Technologies.
MVTS staff will build, integrate, and test elements of Indra’s Distance Measurement Equipment (DME) and Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range (DVOR) systems. By outsourcing to MVTS, Indra personnel can focus on providing high-quality, reliable technology solutions and services that bring value to transportation networks and infrastructure, says a representative.
“Few industries demand and expect the ultra-high quality standards required for air traffic management,” recognizes Ron Gosbee, CEO of Indra Australia.
Indra, operating in more than 110 countries, provides turnkey ATM solutions that play a vital role in air traffic management, including surveillance, automation, communications, simulators, and navigation aids (navaids) used at airports.
MVTS Technologies, a global provider of manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and product support solutions, will assume the production of manufacturing models, units, and sub-assemblies to be incorporated into Indra systems.
