Jet Aviation gets FAA approval for Gulfstream G650 line and base maintenance at facilities in Dubai and Geneva
BASEL, Switzerland, 17 March 2013.Business aviationmaintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) expert Jet Aviation Corp. headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, has received approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Washington to provide line and base maintenance for the Gulfstream G650 business jet at international facilities in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Geneva, Switzerland.
Jet Aviation Dubai has been authorized to provide maintenance, alterations and repair services to the Gulfstream G650. This approval was highly anticipated by customers and the company is currently supporting G650 aircraft.
In addition to the EASA Part 145 approval received in December, Jet Aviation Geneva has been granted FAA approval to support the Gulfstream G650.
Introduced in 2008, the G650 will carry eight passengers and a crew of four on nonstop legs of 7,000 nautical miles, which enables the aircraft to link Dubai with New York, and London with Buenos Aires. With its Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, the G650 will cover relatively short distances at a speed of Mach 0.925 -- close to the speed of sound.
The G650 avionics includes Enhanced Vision System (EVS) II, the Head-Up Display (HUD) II and the synthetic vision-primary flight display (SV-PFD). Its Planeview II cockpit comes with a Triplex flight management system, automatic emergency descent mode, 3-D weather radar, and other advanced flight controls for pilot situational awareness and safety.
Jet Aviation Geneva was founded in 1969 and offers maintenance, refurbishment, and fixed-base operator (FBO) services. The company provides maintenance, repair and avionics support to private and corporate operators.
As a manufacturer’s authorized warranty service center, Jet Aviation Geneva specializes in base maintenance for Gulfstream II/III/IV/V/200/300/350/400/450/500/550/650 aircraft; for the Bombardier Global Express series, including the G6000 version; and for Boeing Business Jet (BBJ).
In addition, the location holds authorization to perform maintenance on Hawker 750/800XP/850XP/900XP aircraft, the Dassault Falcon 50/900/2000 series, and the Cessna Citation 550/560/XL/XLS series. The facility is an EASA #CH.145.0210 and FAA #CD5Y775M approved repair station and also holds approvals for Aruba, Bermuda, UAE, Qatar, Cayman, and South Africa.
