ZURICH, Switzerland, 10 May 2013. Swiss Aviation Training’s (SAT’s) new Embraer 190 full-flight simulator, purchased from CAE in Montreal, is now available for use at the Lufthansa Flight Training Center in Frankfurt.
The new facility marks another milestone in SAT's evolution into an experienced provider of total "E-Jet" training solutions, and further underlines its standing and expertise as a competence center for integrated cockpit, cabin, and technical training, says a spokesperson.
SAT's new E-Jet 190 simulator arrived from CAE in nearly 40 cases of components, and has been assembled and is "ready to train."
The new simulator was formally inaugurated in Frankfurt, and SAT Head of Commerce Laurent Privet underlined the importance of this major investment: "This latest expansion of our training product and locations is a further consistent step in our strategy of consolidating our competence as a provider of integrated training solutions in the E-Jet field.”
SAT also operates an E-Jet simulator in Munich; the new Frankfurt location complements these existing training operations.
The new Frankfurt operation will put a particular emphasis on "wet training," in which the customer for initial and further pilot training makes use not only of the simulator itself but also of SAT's instructors and their extensive expertise. SAT has been one of Embraer's "Preferred Training Providers" since 2003, and has already built up wide and varied Embraer training experience.
CAE’s E-Jet 190 simulator is state-of-the-art, with features that include a dual head-up guidance system and the latest CAE Tropos visual system. The projectors boast an extremely high resolution--an asset appreciated by the pilots who train on it. The simulator also has the newest Aircraft Avionic Software (EPIC load 25.2) installed, which replicates the very latest version of the original aircraft concerned.
SWISS Aviation Training is a fully-owned subsidiary of Swiss International Air Lines Ltd. The company, headed by CEO Manfred Brennwald, has operations in Zurich, Munich, and Frankfurt and focuses on providing initial and further training for commercial pilots, cabin staff, aircraft mechanics, and companies' management and personnel.
