DSE debuts programmable, rugged displays for avionics imaging systems
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., 1 Aug. 2013. Digital Systems Engineering Inc. (DSE), a U.S. design-build manufacturer of ruggedized displays and mobile computers, is introducing its Programmable Tactical Awareness Controller (PTAC2) series of high-performance displays to aid in the remote operation of avionics and military imaging systems.
The PTAC2 series features a configurable, tactile button interface via ASCII or HEX code protocol, enabling the on-display control and internal display control (i.e., toggling between video feeds and view modes, video scaling, adjusting brightness) of external equipment, such as sensors, computers, turrets, masts, and more. In fact, the PTAC2 monitor includes 20 user-designated bezel buttons and an optional touchscreen to maximize remote system operation.
Multiple video inputs, DVI-I/VGA inputs, and advanced view modes (picture-in-picture, picture-over-picture, video scaling) provide viewing functionality.
DSE delivers PTAC2 high-contrast LED backlit screens in a flexible size range: 8.4- to 15-inch TFT AM LCDs, as well as the company’s proprietary NVIS technology for optimum viewing under any ambient light condition.
Designed to meet key military standards, the PTAC2 monitor boasts weather-resistant, IP67 sealed aluminum enclosures, mil connectors, and tactile bezel buttons. The compact PTAC2 presents a small form factor for space-constrained spaces.
Standard features include:
• (20) Tactile Programmable Buttons - Internal and/ or External Use
• (4) RS170 Inputs, PIP Capable
• (1) RS170 Output
• (2) DVI-I/VGA Input
