Avionics technologies for tomorrow's air-superiority jet fighter aircraft is topic of September industry briefings
JOINT BASE LANGLEY-EUSTIS, Va., 25 Aug. 2013. U.S. combat aircraft experts will brief industry in September on the latest ideas and technologies to achieve and hold air supremacy with jet fighter aircraft and other weapon systems.
Officials of the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., will host a government/industry summit on 12-13 Sept. 2013 called Air Superiority: 2030 and Beyond, which will concern innovative ideas, emerging avionics technologies and creative approaches to air domain control.
The meeting will be at the Creech Conference Center on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., and is seeking participants from industry, academia, and research organizations.
The first day, 12 Sept. from noon to 5 p.m., will feature unclassified briefings including Air Force chief scientist's global horizons study, NASA's air superiority science & technology efforts, and Air University's future operating environment, as well as a panel on innovation opportunities.
The second day, 13 Sept from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will feature secret-level briefings from Air Combat Command on air superiority challenges and gaps, as well as DARPA and Navy briefs on their air superiority efforts.

The briefings represent a follow-on to an event last January, which defined the problem, presented the context and boundaries, and challenged participants to search within their organizations for innovative ideas, emerging technologies and creative approaches to air domain control.
