MIL-STD-1553 Express Mezzanine Card for avionics and embedded computing uses introduced by DDC
BOHEMIA, N.Y., 26 Jan. 2014. Data Device Corp. in Bohemia, N.Y., is introducing the BU-67112 MIL-STD-1553 Express Mezzanine Card (XMC) with front and rear I/O options for avionics and embedded computing applications.
The BU-67112 XMC MIL-STD-1553 avioncis databus interface comes in air- and conduction-cooled configurations, and supports a wide range of embedded applications.
The BU-67112 XMC card uses the advanced MIL-STD-1553 technology, Total-AceXtreme, to deliver low power dissipation, high mean time between failures, and high performance for rugged environments.
The high channel count can save space, weight, power, and cost in embedded systems, company officials say. The card offers IRIG 106 chapter 10 and Tx inhibit for flight data recorders, and on-board DMA engine that frees up host CPU resources.
"With front or rear I/O configurations, air and conduction cooling options, and eight channels of dual-redundant MIL-STD-1553, the BU-67112 XMC card is ready to deliver reliability, performance, and SWaP-C savings for all embedded applications", says George Los, DDC's data bus product manager.
