VISTA, Calif., 7 April 2014. Sandel Avionics Inc., a manufacturer of retrofit avionics, has unveiled its first all-digital attitude heading reference system (AHRS), the SG102/D, which is identical to the SG102 (MOD2) without the analog interfaces.

The Sandel SG102/D is lighter in weight, and initializes in one minute—3X faster than the original SG102. It also comes with a selectable low- and high-speed ARINC 429 output, which allows for additional interface options, such as radar systems, satellite communication antennas, and forward-looking infrared (FLIR) stabilization.

The SG102/D AHRS will be available starting May 2014. For more information and its specifications, www.sandel.com/sg102D.

Sandel Avionics Inc. engineers and manufactures advanced avionics for fixed-wing aircraft and rotorcraft and provides embedded software for OEM applications. Its compact integrated display systems for the military and commercial markets include 3-ATI and 4-ATI retrofit primary displays, Class A & B fixed-wing TAWS, and HeliTAWS―the helicopter industry’s only certified panel-mount HTAWS that alerts against wires, terrainm and obstacles, officials say. Sandel is AS9100 and ISO9001 certified. Located in Vista, California, Sandel is managed by an independent board of directors, with the stated business purpose of enhancing the capabilities of pilots and their aircraft.
