Crane launches Ku-band, 4-way Iso-Divider for space applications
CHANDLER, Ariz., 12 June 2014. Crane Aerospace & Electronics Microwave Solution introduces Ku-Band 4-Way Iso-Divider for use in satellite applications.
Crane’s new Iso-Divider is designed to combine the functions of high-performance power dividers with ferrite isolators to provide a high-isolation power divider solution, making the external isolators redundant, for satellite receiver applications, without introducing complex switch-based solutions. Integration of the two functions into a single package provides enhanced product reliability due to fewer external components, interconnects, and transitions, officials say. Marrying the power divider and isolators in the same package also allows the performance of the integrated unit to be carefully matched and better overall performance can be obtained. Size and weight of the new product are considerably less than an equivalent discrete assembly, according to a spokesperson.
“The Iso-Divider product line continues to expand, providing our customers with a comprehensive integrated solution offering enhanced performance and smaller physical size and weight. The combined expertise of our West Caldwell and Chandler operations, with experience in complex passive product structures and advanced design and manufacturing capability of ferrite devices, have been brought together to develop and produce this product,” explains Electronics Group President Bob Tavares. “Crane Electronics Microwave Solution continues to demonstrate being a high value partner, providing critical multi-function building blocks for advanced system architectures.”
