The Pro Line 21 IDS retrofit replaces legacy cathode ray tube (CRT) displays in Hawker 800 aircraft with four large, configurable 10x8-inch liquid crystal displays (LCDs) capable of displaying high-resolution electronic charts, graphical weather, enhanced navigation maps, enhanced vision, and synthetic vision (via a soon-to-be-released option).
Operators that upgrade to Pro Line 21 IDS join a large and growing family of more than 4,500 aircraft that are positioned to display future mandates, such as ADS-B Out and TCAS II Change 7.1.
Additional benefits that are gained when retrofitting Hawker 800 aircraft with Pro Line 21 IDS include:
Reduced maintenance costs associated with more reliable LCD displays compared to the rising cost of repairs to CRT displays nearing obsolescence.
Improved reliability of the attitude heading system—the package includes Rockwell Collins' AHS-3000A Attitude Heading System, which is more than four times as reliable as the existing AHC-85 Attitude Heading Computer.
Increased aircraft value and marketability.
Olson added that major aircraft maintenance checks are an ideal time to retrofit Pro Line 21 IDS, which provides operators with significant labor expense savings and eliminates several days of aircraft downtime.
