Crane Aerospace & Electronics provide tire pressure indication system for Airbus A320, A330 commercial jets

FARNBOROUGH, England, 11 July 2016. Airbus engineers have selected Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of Crane Co. (NYSE:CR), to supply its Tire Pressure Indication System for the Airbus A320 and A330 commercial jet airliners, including the A320neo and A330neo. The system uses Crane SmartStem technology to provide wireless tire pressure monitoring, which improves safety, increases tire life, and reduces the chance of operating with underinflated tires.

FARNBOROUGH, England, 11 July 2016. Airbus engineers have selected Crane Aerospace & Electronics, a segment of Crane Co. (NYSE:CR), to supply its Tire Pressure Indication System for the Airbus A320 and A330 commercial jet airliners, including the A320neo and A330neo. The system uses Crane SmartStem technology to provide wireless tire pressure monitoring, which improves safety, increases tire life, and reduces the chance of operating with underinflated tires.

Crane’s Tire Pressure Indication System will be certified for installation on current and new A320 and A330 family aircraft. Once certified, it will be offered as standard on new production A330 aircraft, and as an option on new production A320. The system can also be retrofitted on existing aircraft.

Crane’s Tire Pressure Indication System is an option on the Boeing 737MAX and is standard on Boeing 787 and 777 aircraft, as well as the in-development COMAC C919.
