Rugged connector backshells for avionics, military, and satellite uses introduced by Harwin
Jan. 8, 2018
PORTSMOUTH, England – Harwin plc in Portsmouth, England, is introducing connector backshells with a rugged aluminum alloy construction and electroless nickel plating for avionics, military communications, aerospace, satellite systems, robotics, industrial drives and controls, and renewable energy applications.
These accessories are for new installations or for mid-production modifications to enable engineers to add increased levels of mechanical robustness, as well as providing 360-degree shielding from electromagnetic and RF interference.
The female cable versions offer a braid-screening attachment with a large elliptical entry hole for braid placement, and slotted or hexagonal jack screws on either side for securing the connection and strain relief.
The male backshell for panel mount applications is compatible with cable or vertical circuit board connector styles. The connectors work in temperatures from -55 to 125 degrees Celsius.
Designers can use the Harwin backshells with the company's J-Tek and Mix-Tek Datamate connectors to accommodate signal, power, and coax cabling. For more information contact Harwin online at www.harwin.com.
