CRAWLEY, England --L3 Commercial Aviation has announced a new software upgrade that promises to enhance the functionality of its line of Lynx NGT-9000 series of transponders.
The upgrade, called Release 3.2, will add enhanced GPS performance and start-up time; improved compatibility with Genesys Aerosystems' IDU-680 instrument system; and added support for dual control panel installations.
Lynx NGT-9000 units are already capable of supporting graphical and textual weather information, maps, air traffic, NOTAMs and TFRs. The units also provide 1090ES ADS-B Out, and 1090 MHz and 978 MHz ADS-B In.
The Lynx is a "turnkey solution for general aviation aircraft and Part 27 rotorcraft, providing enhanced situational awareness, ATAS traffic alerting below 500 feet, safety and ADS-B compliance," said the company's Shane LaPlante.
Release 3.2 is scheduled for release in August. The update is available to current Lynx owners for free at Lynx installation centers, and will be pre-installed with all new units.
