PARIS - Moment has partnered with Malaysia Airlines to install its immersive and innovative In-Flight Entertainment platform, Flymingo Connect, aboard its Boeing 737-800. In a post-Covid context, this platform enables streaming of smart services onboard to passengers’ devices at a heightened performance level by giving full empowerment to passengers.
Malaysia Airlines, the national flag carrier of Malaysia and a member of the Oneworld airline alliance, is internationally recognized for its premium services and superior connectivity with seamless journeys to 1,000 destinations across 150 plus countries. Pursuing this innovative program, the airline aims to elevate passengers experience and enhance comfort in the cabin while creating seamless ancillary revenue opportunities through its inflight entertainment (IFE) platform using Moment’s Flymingo Connect. This next-gen inflight entertainment solution is a modular embedded In-Flight Entertainment platform, featuring a Server and Wireless Access Points.
Embedding the latest technologies (5G, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, and IoT gateways), Flymingo Connect enables airlines to provide in-cabin connected services, enhance digitalization, and automate aircraft operations. Developed for all types of aircraft, this patented system enables the highest capacity performance and reliability in high-density environments.
Moment is scheduled to roll out pilot tests on this state-of-the-art IFE portal starting in January 2022 on selected aircraft on Malaysia Airlines’ B737-800 fleet. Upon successful trials, Malaysia Airlines will subsequently deploy this throughout its entire B737-800 fleet, offering unparalleled entertainment streaming, real-time travel information, and a compelling and seamless e-commerce platform – putting incredible power combined with ease of use at passengers’ fingertips.
