LEXINGTON, Ky. - Audio Authority, a Lexington, Ky.-based electronics design and manufacturing company, has announced the launch of the SmartGPU, the latest model in its White Lightning brand of ground power units. The SmartGPU is designed to meet the needs of various general aviation aircraft, from piston-powered planes to mid-size business jets.

The SmartGPU will make its public debut powering the new Piper M700 Fury at Piper’s EAA AirVenture exhibit. The unit will provide power to the aircraft's external power receptacle, energizing its Garmin 3000 flight deck systems, lighting, flight control motors, hydraulics, ventilation, and other accessories.

The White Lightning SmartGPU features an advanced user interface, remote operation via a mobile app, and full-time battery maintenance charging. Two 28V models will be offered initially. The Model S28114 provides up to 114 amperes of 28VDC power, suited for turboprop and business jet operators with a compact, lightweight design. The Model 28054 offers up to 54 amperes at 28VDC, suitable for piston-powered aircraft. Both models include heavy-duty output cables and input cord sets.

Operators can remotely monitor and control the SmartGPU using a mobile app compatible with iOS and Android. The unit is equipped with a 4” TFT display that provides real-time digital output metering and operational information, giving users precise data. The SmartGPU delivers enhanced power with models ranging from 54A to 114A at 28 volts, catering to a wide range of aircraft.

“We are thrilled to introduce the White Lightning SmartGPU at Oshkosh AirVenture. We believe it represents a significant leap forward in technology, providing aircraft operators with the tools they need to streamline operations and enhance safety,” said Jonathan Sisk, founder and president at Audio Authority. “The ability to monitor and operate the GPU unit remotely gives aircraft owners peace of mind knowing that their aircraft and its battery are in optimal condition, ready to fly when they are.”

The SmartGPU will be available in two models: a 3200W unit (114A @ 28 volts) and a 1500W unit (54A @ 28 volts), both sharing a common chassis and feature set.
