NASA taps Electra to design electric commercial aircraft of the future

The Military & Aerospace Electronics take:
14 November 2024 - Electra was one of five teams selected as part of the AACES 2050 study awards. Also tapped are Aurora Flight Sciences, a Boeing company, whose team will work on alternative fuel and propulsion systems, among other areas.
Electra will continue work on its electric propulsion and aerodynamic improvements, while the Georgia Institute of Technology explores sustainability technologies, including hydrogen. JetZero will also be exploring hydrogen-powered flight, plus blended-wing body designs. Finally, Pratt & Whitney, an RTX company, will focus on thermal and propulsive efficiency
