13 January 2025 - "New marvels like AI, the digital revolution and sustainable technology are giving us incredible tools to transform the travel experience," said Atlanta's Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian during the CES keynote. "But amid the wonder of new technology, we’ve always understood that the entire point of innovation is to lift people up."
Also at the CES keynote, Delta announced it was working with aviation giant Airbus through their respective innovation labs, Delta’s Sustainable Skies Lab and Airbus UpNext. The collaboration focuses on developing and testing technologies to advance the future of aviation, such as fuel efficiency improvements, enhanced wing performance, superconductivity, and advanced aircraft assistance systems. Airbus will leverage its global network of labs to fast-track these innovations, while Delta will contribute real-world operational feedback, participate in experiment designs, observe testing, and potentially implement early-stage technologies on its fleet.
