Software-defined radio for mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) unmanned vehicle applications introduced by DTC
PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – Domo Tactical Communications (DTC), in Pinellas, Park, Fla., is introducing the SOL8SDR2x1W-P software-defined radio 2x1W Plain for use with unmanned vehicles.
The SOL8SDR2x1W-P enables high-speed, long-range, encrypted links for the reliable transfer of video, audio, data, and general IP network traffic in real-time environments in a low size, weight, and power (SWaP) enclosure.
The SOL8SDR2x1W-P features the MeshUltra family of tactical mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) mesh waveforms to provide high bandwidth communication in challenging, dynamic, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) environments.
MeshUltra waveform operates at RF channel bandwidths from 1.25 MHz, 1.5 MHz, 1.75 MHz, 2.5 MHz, to 20 MHz. With adaptive modulation to 64QAM, DTC’s MeshUltra supports data rates as fast as 87 megabits per second.
The MeshUltra-X waveform is for wireless networks as large as 144 radios, operating in channels as narrow as 1.25 MHz and on one frequency for large drone swarms and applications where many radios must operate efficiently in a limited spectrum.
The SOL8SDR2x1W-P also can operate as a MANET IP mesh node for unmanned vehicles and similar applications, a P2P COFDM transmitter, or a P2P receiver to a tablet PC. With low power consumption, the SOL8SDR2x1W-P includes native Ethernet, dual USB, serial and an audio headset interface.
