Mil-spec miniature audio connectors for military radios, communications networks offered by CDM Electronics
TURNERSVILLE, N.J. – Electronics distributor CDM Electronics Inc. in Turnersville, N.J., is offering the Amphenol Nexus Technologies MAP and MAJ Series of 10-contact miniature M55116-Type TAC audio connectors.
The mil-spec in-line and panel-mount plugs and receptacles are made in the U.S., and are 50 percent smaller than standard MIL-DTL55116 parts to meet the size, weight, and performance requirements of today's soldier-worn, and ruggedized public safety communications applications. Miniature 6- and 7-contact designs are available by special order.
Engineered to the requirements of U.S. Department of Defense, Amphenol Nexus Technologies miniature M55116-Type TAC audio connectors are for small-format applications that demand MIL-DTL-55116 performance characteristics.
Panel-mount plugs and receptacles, including those optimized for overmolding, are for military radios, tactical intercom networks, and communications networks.

The M55116-Type plugs come with rigid contacts, while receptacles have molded-in spring-loaded contacts with solder cup terminals to provide self-cleaning and eliminate problems common with pin/socket open contacts.
Solder-type contacts optionally can be used as a PC tail. Parts standard wire strain relief accommodates .125 and .250 cable diameters. The connectors accommodate custom cable diameters, in-line receptacles, filtering and shielding, and custom specifications.
Featuring a stainless steel passivated shell, plus bayonet coupling, the miniature MAP and MAJ Series of M55116-Type TAC audio connectors have a 12-millimeter footprint and maximum mated height of 27 millimeters.
