STAR-H Corp. in Lancaster, Pa., is offering tactical VHF communications antenna for use with the military Single-Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System, better known as SINCGARS. The antenna covers the 30 to 90 MHz band with a VSWR under 2.0:1. It is an alternative to the standard OE-254 biconical antenna. Unlike the OE-254, the STAR-H antenna does not require a lossy impedance matching network. The antenna is inherently broadband, resulting in nearly 100 percent antenna efficiency across the SINCGARS band. The STAR-H antenna design provides rapid assembly and disassembly while eliminating all loose components, making it almost impossible to lose any part of the antenna during field operations. The design also incorporates redundancy so that the antenna will continue to operate even with several missing or damaged elements. It folds flat into a carrying bag for easy transportation. The complete package weighs less than 20 pounds, excluding the support mast. For more information contact STAR-H Corp. online at www.star-h.com.
